When it;s spring again we'll sing again..

It might not be this frog, but a frog has spawed in our rather small water feature. I'm not too convinced that they will hatch out or even survive for long if they do. The tadpoles would have to take their chances with living in a very small tub, a very active dog, hungry nesting birds, and a toddle that is far too inquisitive. If they get to froglet stage they will have to figure out how to get out of their enclosure, and then take their chaces with the new lawn mover, and all the other hazards. Good luck froggies!!

Next fall asleep at a party. Not only will someone rest your hand in some kind of liquid at body temperature to make you wet yourself, they will make that liquid contain growth hormones to make your digits swell!!

More Gig photos

I have been continuing to do some gig photography. This was taken at Nambucca, a music venue in Islington, North London. The guitarist is Chris Carter, from the band 'Waiting for Katherine'.
This image, as with the others from the set on Flickr were taken using an old Sigma short zoom I bought second and was not designed for digital SLR's, so to make it work I have had to put masking tape across the sensors. The lens has some chromatic problems in normal light, but seems to be ok in low light situations. I am pleased with the results, and feel I have improved somewhat from my earlier attempts. I am saving for a Canon 17-55 f2.8, so hopefully if my camera can be repaired, this purchase will not be too far off. If i need a new body then it will take a good while longer, and the Sigma will need to hang onto its masking tape for a while.

This was the last picture I took before my camera accident. I has trying to attach my Gorilla Pod when fumbling fingers sent my camera for its first drop test. It failed. I'm hoping the repair shop will be able to breathe new life back into the old girl. I suspect it is just a connect come loose inside, well I hope it is anyway. I also had my best lens on there at the time, so I don't know it that is damaged. The elements appear to be ok, but until I can get it on another body I can't tell if the electronics etc. are affected.
