So it snowed.  It happens here in the south of England about one a year, and we get a smattering of the cold white stuff.  It is usually enough to close the schools of a day, and is pretty for a few days until it turns brown and mushy.  I ventured out to get a few snaps.  The main aim was to get something a little stark, and to try and get the exposure right.  As I have that disnumer-whatever its called I have a little trouble with working with stops, etc.  So I just over exposed by moving the camera metering up a couple of notches.  I wanted to avoid relying on the levels level in photoshop, although I did tweak them a little.  As always I would welcome comments, critiques, advice, or just general chit chat :)

As it is the season to be jolly, I decided to set up a cheesy winter wonderland grotty, erm I mean grotto (ok right the first time).  Whenever we could we would ask, beg, cajole or blackmail visitors to our humble abode to pose in said cheesefest.  Replete with plastic moon, fake, and rather unconvincing snow, plus an artificial tree I captures lots of fun and smiles with loads of our buddies.  Check out flickr for the full set.  A massive bunch of thanks to all who took part in my crazy folly.  There will be a new cheesier scene in January, if that is at all possible, and hopefully we will have some return visits, and some new victims, erm models to get snapped.

Another mother and daughter shoot, this time with the slightly crazy Belinda, and her well ok, slightly crazy daughter.  I posted a facebook message inviting people round for an impromptu session. We met Belinda and her husband Allan via friends, at a pub of course.  Sadly Allan was away for the weekend on a Jujitsu contest, or something like that.  Belinda and Hazel arrived armed with an array of colourful hats, and even more colourful homemade Rhubarb wine.  They very quickly got into the spirit of the session, and got some fab shots.  Many thanks go to these two super girls for volunteering to go before the lens and being such great sports.
